My Review For: Word Smithing

Word-Smithing
When word-smithing comes to mind and the internet, there are three websites that act much the same but are slightly different as well. Google Alerts, this allows you to keep up with the latest news and sends you notifications about things you have alerted. Ngram, this allows you to search words about the past and present popularity in books, journals and the internet. Finally Wordnik, this website allows you to search up definitions of popular words, it also shows you how many different people have looked up that word.

You could use these websites in many different classes at school. One example is that you can use these websites in English. They all include words and definitions of those words. You can also use these in English is to search and analyse the amount of times a word has been looked up and the popularity.

Some challenges I faced while searching these three websites are; Google Alerts: The picture and the way my teacher had showed us that Google Alerts has worked is different to the way it came up on my screen, this is because Google has updated itself, I thought I was on the wrong website though with the reassurance from my teacher, I was fine and quickly went back to work. NGram: This website took a while to load and once it did load it took a while to update the relevance of some words and people, sometimes it also didn't show certain words so I just had to not use those words which were a little disappointing, though I got over it. I didn't have any troubles in Wordnik though it took a long time to load in Google because there are so many people using Google at one time.

I hope this post helped you realise the pros and cons about these three websites and gave you some insight into what these three websites can help you achieve and in what different subjects at school you can use it for.
Thankyou for reading my blog, see you in the next one
