My Review For: Quizlet

Quizlet
Quizlet is an online website that makes flash cards for every different thing and for everyone.

This is a screenshot of some of my flash cards

You could use this website in any class. This would be a great website to use for studying if you use flash cards or you want to start using slash cards but don't want to make paper flashcards.

A challenge that I faced was when I first made an acount was that it told me to put my birthday in and  I didn't want to put my birthday in for reasons that my parents told me not to. I tried not to put it in but it wouldn't let me so instead I put in a fake birthday.

I hope this post helped you realise the pros and cons about quizlet and gave you some insight into quizlet can help you achieve and in what different subjects at school you can use it for.

The last Algonquin Finds

The Last Algonquin
It was written by Theodore Kazimiroff
It is about an indian man who lived in New York in 1924. It talks about his bitter struggles and his remarkable courage. At age 13 he moved to Manhattan but had to flee after killing a robber as self defence. From there he found a back-breaking job in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. When the civil war broke out he was forced to go back to his birth place and once again live alone. He was suspended by a lost culture and a alienated one. My years later he was an old man and entrusted his legacy a young boy scout who became his only friend.

Yes, I do believe that it will be appropriate for a ten year old because now days young people are starting to understand more things at a younger age, so I believe it will be alright from the description on amazon.

You can buy the book from any book shop or online. The cheapest price i could find was on amazon and it was for 1 cent on amazon and it has been used and read by 20 people.

Yes, there is a movie on this book called "the home of the last algonquin" and you can find the clips on youtube or you can buy the movie from any movie store.

Here is the link to the website that I found the info on: http://www.thelastalgonquin.com/video.php

My Review for: Toondoo

Toondoo
Toondoo is an online website that allows you to make cartoon strips or cartoon books. With different backgrounds, people and comic strip sizes, there are endless ways of what to create about. With an easy access and login you can either sign up or do a free trial.

This is a picture of the home page of Toondoo

You can use this website in different subjects in school. For example you could use this in Art, for a visual arts project. You could also use in this in English to tell a story. You could also use this website in Science to show the different parts in a certain system (biology) or how to do a certain chemical reaction (chemistry).

A trouble that I had with this website is that it didn't let me sign up for free at the start. After I tried to sign up again it said that my email had already been used, which wasn't true. I figured out what to do eventually. I had to shut down the website and the computer and start up everything again. Luckily though, it worked. (You know what they say; 3rd times a charm :) ).

I hope this post helped you realise the pros and cons about toondoo and gave you some insight into what toondoo can help you achieve and in what different subjects at school you can use it for.

My Review for: Glogster

Glogster
Glogster is an online website where you can make a poster about anything you want. It can be used for many different ways. From making a poster about yourself to making a poster for an advertisement. With already set backgrounds it so easy to use, you can even import videos. Glogster allows you to make your poster private or public. You can sign up or do a 7 day trial.

This is the home page of glogster

This is a part of my poster on glogster

Glogster is a great website to use in different subjects. A few classes would be Art for a portfolio cover, if you're doing an 'about yourself'' poster. Another class could be for a Science class if you had to do a timeline of an animal, (this would be for a biology class). Or you could use this for the different systems and how they work, would be another idea. You could also use glogster in a business and law class. Making a poster on the business you could be researching. These are some of the endless possibilities you could use glogster for.

Unfortunately, I had an issue or two accessing glogster with dropping YouTube videos into it. I found out by a fellow classmate that you need to go to the top of the page and press the plus (+) button to get a picture like this:
Once you access this you either need to put the link or the name of the video into the search bar, it will come up with multiple videos if you search the name or the specific video if you enter the URL.

I hope this post helped you realise the pros and cons about glogster and gave you some insight into what glogster can help you achieve and in what different subjects at school you can use it for.

My Review for: Storybird

Storybird
Storybird is a website that lets users make stories, recreate stories and look at others stories. You will first have to make a username and password to let you get into the writing portion of the website. you can make chapter books, picture books and poems with multiple pictures that are provided.

This is a picture of the home screen of Storybird

This is a picture of the start of my story

Storybird is a great website for school. You can use it for many different subjects and classes, for example you can use this for an english class when writing an essay or a story or a science class when writing up a practical report. Overall you can use this website for nearly everything.

There was a challenge that I faced when on and trying got get on to storybird, these challenges were trying to wok out how to write the story. For this you first have to choose a picture and that picture will be your cover page. This to me was confusing because it didn't have a link to the writing portion of the page, I thought because of the things of the screen that you might only be able to use pictures to tell the story. Though with a little bit of searching I eventually found out how to work the writing link.

I hope this post helped you realise the pros and cons about story bird and gave you some insight into what story bird can help you achieve and in what different subjects at school you can use it for.
